Tun Sakaran Marine Park

Tun Sakaran Marine Park (TSMP) is located at the entrance to Darvel Bay, off the East coast of Sabah near Semporna. It’s about a 45-minute speedboat ride from the town’s jetty. Named after the then Head of State of Sabah, Tun Sakaran Dandai, it became Sabah’s seventh park in July 2004. As the largest Marine Park, it spans 340 sq kilometers of sea and coral reefs, along with 10 sq kilometers of land. The park comprises 8 islands, their surrounding reefs, and sea, with the main goal of environmental protection and promoting sustainable use of natural resources. These islands include Pulau Bodgaya, Bohey Dulang, Tetagan, Selakan, Sebangkat, Maiga, Sibuan, and Mantabuan.
